Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 4 November 2026. Please read these terms, including our refunds, technician terms and disclaimer.
1. About RepairLink SA
RepairLink SA ("RepairLink SA", "we", "us") operates a website and platform that helps customers connect with independent appliance and coffee machine repair technicians in South Africa, starting in Cape Town. By using this website, submitting a form or contacting us, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
RepairLink SA is a connection platform only. We do not repair appliances. Technicians are independent businesses and are not our employees, agents, partners or subcontractors.
2. Who may use the website
You must be 18 or older, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, and have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement. You must give accurate and complete information.
3. Repair enquiries
Submitting a repair request does not guarantee a technician, a booking or a response time. Availability depends on the service and your area, and the areas shown on our website are not a guarantee of coverage. If we connect you with a technician, you deal directly with that technician for availability, call-out fees, quotations, timelines and repair arrangements. The repair contract is between you and the technician, not with RepairLink SA.
RepairLink SA is not an emergency service. If you smell gas, see smoke or sparks, or there is a risk of fire, flooding or electric shock, switch off the supply if it is safe to do so and contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
4. Fees and payments
Call-out fees, quotations and repair costs are set by each independent technician and confirmed with you before you commit. Any RepairLink SA service fee, and whether it applies, will be shown to you before you pay. All prices are in South African rand.
5. Refunds and cancellations
If you paid a call-out fee through RepairLink SA and the technician did not arrive for a confirmed appointment, you may ask support for a refund of that call-out fee. We will verify what happened with you and the technician and, if the request is valid, refund the fee using the original payment method. Please contact support promptly after the missed appointment.
You may cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment by telling the technician or us as early as possible. If a technician has already travelled to you or started work, the technician may charge a reasonable call-out fee that was agreed with you beforehand.
We are not responsible for refunding amounts you pay directly to a technician. Disputes about the quality or cost of a repair should first be raised with the technician, and we will make reasonable efforts to help. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
6. Technician terms
These terms apply to anyone who applies to or participates in the technician network:
- Applying does not mean acceptance or verification, and we do not guarantee work, enquiries or income. We may accept, decline, suspend or remove a technician at our discretion.
- You are an independent service provider. You are not our employee or agent, and you are responsible for your own tools, transport, tax, insurance and registrations.
- You must hold and keep all licences, qualifications, registrations and certificates that the law requires for the work you do (for example electrical or gas compliance where applicable), and you must work safely and professionally.
- You set your own fees and must be honest about them. You must tell customers your fees before you start work and must not misrepresent your qualifications or experience.
- You must keep your registration details accurate and up to date, and must handle customers' personal information only for their repair in line with POPIA.
- You are solely responsible for the quality and safety of your work and for any damage, loss or injury it causes. You indemnify RepairLink SA against claims, losses and costs that arise from your work, your breach of these terms or your breach of the law, to the extent permitted by law.
7. Disclaimer
The information on this website is general and provided in good faith, but we do not warrant that it is complete, accurate or always up to date. We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. We do not warrant or guarantee any technician's qualifications, insurance, availability, pricing or workmanship, and we do not endorse any technician. Any reference to technician checks means only the information we request during onboarding, and a check does not guarantee the quality or outcome of any repair.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RepairLink SA is not liable for loss or damage arising from work done by technicians, from a technician failing to attend, or from your use of or inability to use the website, including indirect or consequential loss and loss of profit. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the fees you paid to RepairLink SA in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for our gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
9. Acceptable use
Do not submit false, unlawful, misleading or abusive information, impersonate others, harass technicians or customers, attempt to disrupt or hack the website, or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may decline or remove submissions and block access where we reasonably believe these rules are broken.
10. Intellectual property
The RepairLink SA name, logo, design and content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
11. Electronic communications
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically (including by phone, SMS, WhatsApp and email) about your enquiry or application, as allowed by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any complaint. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission or the relevant ombud, and the courts of the Western Cape have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page, with its last updated date (currently 4 November 2026), applies each time you use the website. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
